1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the AquaLog iOS application (“AquaLog,” “the app,” “we,” or “us”). It describes the app’s treatment of information when you install or use AquaLog.
2. Information you enter
AquaLog lets you enter aquarium-care information, including:
- Aquarium names, water type, volume, and notes;
- Water-test dates, measurements, and notes;
- Livestock, coral, plant, and inventory records;
- Dosing products, amounts, schedules, and notes; and
- Maintenance tasks, descriptions, recurrence, and due dates.
This content is stored in AquaLog’s private local database on your device. AquaLog does not transmit these aquarium records to a developer-operated server.
3. Accounts, analytics, and advertising
AquaLog does not require or offer an account. The app does not include third-party advertising, behavioral tracking, analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, or cross-app profiling. We do not sell or rent your aquarium records or personal information.
4. Local notifications
If you create a dosing or maintenance reminder, AquaLog asks iOS for notification permission at that time. The reminder’s title, description, and date are scheduled locally through Apple’s notification framework. You may deny or later revoke permission in iOS Settings. Denying permission does not prevent you from keeping records in AquaLog.
5. Optional App Store purchases
If you purchase or restore AquaLog Premium, the transaction is processed by Apple. AquaLog receives the product identifier, transaction state, and restoration status needed to unlock Premium. We do not receive your complete payment-card number or Apple Account password. Apple’s processing is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy and terms.
6. Device backups and transfers
Depending on your device and Apple settings, iOS may include AquaLog’s local data in an encrypted iCloud or computer backup. Those backups are controlled by you and Apple, not by an AquaLog-operated cloud service. Restoring or transferring a device may restore app data from such a backup.
7. Retention and deletion
AquaLog records remain on your device until you delete individual entries, delete an aquarium, or remove the app. Deleting an aquarium permanently removes its related readings, livestock, dosing schedules, tasks, and local reminders from the active app database. Removing the app normally removes its local database, subject to backups you control. Apple may retain purchase records under its own legal and operational requirements.
8. Security
AquaLog relies on iOS application sandboxing and device protections to help prevent other apps from accessing its local database. No method of storage is guaranteed to be completely secure. Protect your device with a passcode, keep iOS updated, and maintain backups appropriate for your needs.
9. Children’s privacy
AquaLog is a general aquarium-care utility and is not directed to children under 13. Because the app has no account or developer-operated data collection service, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through AquaLog.
10. International use and legal rights
Because aquarium records remain on your device, we do not transfer those records between countries. Privacy and consumer laws in your jurisdiction may provide rights that cannot be limited by this policy. Apple may process App Store transactions in accordance with its global services and applicable law.
11. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy to reflect app, platform, or legal changes. The updated policy will display a new effective date and may also be included with an app update. Continued use after an update means the revised policy applies from its stated effective date.
12. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, use the current developer support contact listed on AquaLog’s App Store product page. Because AquaLog does not operate an account or cloud database, we cannot remotely view, edit, or delete records stored only on your device.
